PERFORM THE MITZVAH OF REMEMBRANCE OF THE HALF-SHEKEL

Half a shekel was required per person to build the bases of the Mishkan: ‘When you raise up they will each give a ransom for their soul’.

These half-shekels only became complete with the contribution of the other, and the whole nation participated in building the Mishkan: each needed the other to achieve the unity and brotherhood desired by HaShem.
